Versions 1 and 2 of FileMaker force users to store all information in one table. In the release of version 10, FileMaker automatically creates the first table to create a new database. The table will have the same name as the database itself and contain no fields. The first step will usually be to rename this table and specify the desired fields it should contain. To rename a table, activate the table tab in the Define Database dialog, click on the name, enter a new one and then click the Change button. To create a field, select the Fields tab in the Define Database dialog, enter the name of each desired field, specify the data type of the field (text, amount, date, etc.) and then click the Create button. Make sure to include the primary key in every table created. This will be used to relate tables to other tables to design the final report. To create a primary field, enter a name, specify a number field type and then click Create. Next, click the Options button and in the Auto-Input tab, enable the “Serial number” option. Finally, on the validation tab, Enable the “None blank” and “Unique values” options. You can join our FileMaker Training by visiting our website.

Find Mode is used to search for data that meet the search requirements. This search can be applied to various types of fields, for example, can be for numbers, can be for text, date, and time by using mathematical or logical operations. Layout Mode is used to design the layout of the Form along with button functions, value lists, and relations between files. In addition, it can also be used to design the required report format. Preview Mode is used to display data according to the format of the report or table to be printed. The view mode can be selected via the Menu > View option. If the mode selection is done using the pop-up menu in the lower-left corner, click the corresponding pop-up menu and then move the pointer to move the highlight on the desired option. The default mode when opening a file that has been created is Browse mode, while the default mode when creating a new file is Layout mode.
